Highland Park (often referred to alongside Martyrs' Lane) is one of the most beautiful and scenic recreational areas in Baku. History
The history of Highland Park is tied to various periods of Azerbaijan's past. The area was first landscaped during the Russian Empire period and further developed during the Soviet era. Since the 1990s, the independent Azerbaijani state has placed special emphasis on reconstructing and enhancing the park.
One of the park’s most important sections, Martyrs' Lane, is dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives during the January 20 tragedy and the Karabakh War. It symbolizes Azerbaijan's struggle for independence and is a site of national remembrance, attracting visitors from across the country.
