Boulevard

Baku Boulevard (officially known as the Seaside National Park) is one of the most famous and picturesque recreational areas in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku. Located along the Caspian Sea, the boulevard has been a favorite destination for city residents and tourists since 1909. It serves as both a cultural and entertainment center and is considered one of the symbolic landmarks of the city.

History

The foundation of Baku Boulevard was laid in 1909. Its establishment was linked to the growing oil industry in the city at that time. The natural coastline of the Caspian Sea was transformed into an organized park area. Initially, the boulevard was only 500 meters long, but over time, it was expanded and gained its modern appearance.

During the 1930s-1940s, the boulevard underwent significant expansion and was further enriched during the Soviet period. After the 1990s, the independent Azerbaijani state placed special emphasis on its development, blending modern architectural elements with classical styles.

Area and Infrastructure

Today, Baku Boulevard spans approximately 16 kilometers, stretching from the Flag Square to the White City Boulevard. It consists of various functional zones and unique architectural landmarks.

Walking and Green Zones

• The boulevard features lush greenery, trees, and flower beds, providing a natural balance to the city's urbanization and offering a relaxing atmosphere for visitors.

• It includes wide pedestrian paths, cycling lanes, and plenty of benches along the shoreline.
