Location
Astara District is located in the southernmost part of Azerbaijan, on the Caspian Sea coast, along the border with Iran.
It is about 300 km from Baku.
The region includes both lowland and mountainous areas and enjoys a subtropical climate.
History:
Since ancient times, Astara has been an important trade center due to its location on the Great Silk Road.
Archaeological findings, including ancient settlements and burial mounds, prove that the area has a long history.
The population mainly consists of Azerbaijanis and Talysh people.

Astara is renowned for its rich natural environment:the Caspian coastline,subtropical forests,river valleys,and waterfalls.
Part of the Hirkan National Park is located here, famous for its rare ironwood trees and unique biodiversity.
